You’re Here, But Can You Hear?

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are seeing more and more different types of disabilities in the mainstream classroom and in private practice. We, as communication professionals, will collaborate and define the best course of action for those children with an auditory disability. Professionals identify up-to-date knowledge of current hearing aids and cochlear implants, as well as other developments. The workshop demonstrates tips for those working with children with hearing loss in a general education setting. Basic audiology will be integrated within the course.
- Identify and list various ways to work with children with hearing loss within a general education setting.
- Define and describe current hearing aids and cochlear implants being used within the classroom.
- Integrate audiology basics of audiograms and hearing loss to enhance knowledge.
